School of Planning, Design and Construction

Xinyi Wang is a Ph.D. student in the School of Planning, Design and Construction at Michigan State University. She earned her M.Sc. in International Planning from University College London and holds dual bachelor’s degrees in urban and Regional Planning from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University and Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai. Her research focuses on the relationships between the built environment and human health. Her current work explores how geospatial analysis and artificial intelligence (GeoAI) can improve the measurement of environmental exposures and advance understanding of how these exposures relate to physical and mental health outcomes. She is also involved in research on community-scale sustainability and resilience assessment. Her broader research interests include healthy communities, environmental equity, GIS, and data-driven approaches to urban planning and landscape research.
