Background and Research Interests
Tamil Selvan Arul Arasan earned his undergraduate degree in Biotechnology Engineering from Anna University, Chennai. He completed his Master’s degree in Food Science, where his research focused on food allergy and immunology in Dr. Gangur's lab. He is currently a PhD student in Dr. Abdelhamid’s Food Microbiology laboratory, investigating the virulence and survival strategies of foodborne pathogens, such as Salmonella on fresh produce, with the goal of mitigating pathogen virulence and enhancing food safety.
