Andrea Zeeb Polverento is a land use planner, educator, and eighth-generation farmer whose work bridges land use planning, agriculture, conservation, and community development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Natural Resources Communications and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University.

Prior to joining SPDC as a Teaching Specialist, she spent 18 years as Director of Planning for Watertown Charter Township, leading long-range planning initiatives, zoning administration, ordinance development, review and inspection of development projects, and community engagement.  To Andrea, planning in a smaller community meant making personal connections, educating landowners, and being a resource when questions arose.  It also allowed her to gain experience across a range of land use planning related areas, including parks and recreation, capital improvements, and infrastructure planning. 

In addition to her planning career, Andrea serves as Chair of the Clinton Conservation District Board.  She is actively involved in agricultural research and outreach through the Kellogg Biological Station and MSU Extension, and she’s engaged with several Farm Bureau committees related to natural resources, environment, and policy.  Her professional interests include sustainable land use, rural and small town planning, climate adaptation and resiliency, and disaster response. Andrea and her husband Greg live in Bath, where continues to farm with her family on their sesquicentennial farm.
