School of Packaging Sustainable Materials Group

Abdul Basit Sayyed joined the group in Fall 2024 and is currently working on plastic processing and paper coating, with a focus on improving material performance and sustainability. He is pursuing his Master’s degree at Michigan State University, where his research involves polymer processing, barrier properties, recyclability, and surface modification techniques to enhance oil and water resistance.

 

He has a strong background in packaging and materials engineering, supported by both industry and academic research experience. Through these experiences, he has developed skills in experimental design, material characterization, data analysis, and problem-solving, along with hands-on experience in polymer films, coatings, and sustainable packaging solutions.

 

He is particularly interested in sustainable materials, advanced packaging systems, recycling, and applying material science principles to solve real-world industrial challenges. He aims to pursue opportunities at the intersection of research, innovation, and sustainability.
