Emerging Leader Program Structure
Total time for each session is 3 days and 2 evenings.
The application period for the 2027 Emerging Leader Program will open in the summer of 2026.
Session 1: April 19-21, 2027
Session I Objectives
- Meet fellow participants and begin building a supportive learning community.
- Explore leadership for the common good and establish shared expectations for the program.
- Increase self-awareness by examining your personality style, strengths, values, and leadership tendencies.
- Develop greater understanding of how personality influences communication and relationships.
- Learn practical tools for setting goals, building new habits, and growing as a leader.
- Begin creating a personalized Leadership Growth Plan to guide your development throughout the program.
- Partner with another participant to encourage reflection, accountability, and mutual support throughout the program.
- Reflect on your personal leadership journey and identify goals for continued development.
Session 2: July 19-21, 2027
Session 2 Objectives
- Strengthen interpersonal leadership and communication skills.
- Develop practical facilitation skills for leading productive meetings and group discussions.
- Build confidence in planning and leading effective meetings and collaborative decision-making.
- Understand group dynamics and learn to adapt facilitation approaches to different situations.
- Apply facilitation tools through practice and feedback.
- Lead a collaborative Leadership for the Common Good group project with your cohort peers.
- Continue refining your personal Leadership Growth Plan.
Session 3: October 4-6, 2027
Session 3 Objectives
- Explore how systems thinking and collaborative leadership can help address complex organizational and community challenges.
- Examine how power, influence, and relationships can be used to create positive organizational and community change.
- Present and reflect on the Leadership for the Common Good group project.
- Share insights and progress from your personal Leadership Growth Plan.
- Integrate learning from all three sessions into your own leadership philosophy and practice.
- Clarify your role as a leader and identify meaningful opportunities to create positive change in your organization and community.
- Leave with a clear plan for your continued leadership development.
