View all Strength Training Basics VideosTo perform a dumbbell front lateral raise, start with your feet shoulder width apart with a pair of dumbbells in each hand. Hold the dumbbells in front of you with your palms facing you. With your chest up and core tight, raise the weight straight out in front of you to about chin level or as high as you comfortably can go, and lower the weight in a slow and controlled fashion back into the starting position. It's important not to arch your back during this movement and keeping your core nice and tight.
