Samantha Bloom
Samantha (Sam) Bloom is a Michigan State University Extension 4-H Program Coordinator based in Kent County, Michigan.
In this role, she leads and oversees the development and management of the local 4-H program, including volunteers and youth participants. She loves getting her hands dirty in community gardens and is passionate about animals, sustainability, and positive youth development. You can typically find her working with her 4-H team by the Grand Ideas Garden or running around trying to plan a camp.
Sam has a background in zoology and conservation education with a bachelor's in Sustainable Parks, Recreation, and Tourism from Michigan State University. She is currently working towards her master's degree in Outdoor Leadership with a concentration in Conservation Education! Before this role, Sam was the Community Programs Coordinator at San Antonio Zoo, where she helped develop and organize programs, such as camps, overnights, and scout workshops. She was also a key member of the team that created the Dungeons & Dragons Game Night at the zoo, which has won awards from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
