Alex Wright, Ph.D.
Alex Wright works for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as Conservation Coordinator for the Upper Mississippi / Great Lakes Migratory Bird Joint Venture and Midwest Landscape Initiative partnerships. In that capacity, he coordinates voluntary conservation actions and investments across the Midwest region, leads the development and application of decision-support tools, collaborates with scientific researchers to solve emerging conservation challenges, and serves as a Level 3 Facilitator through the Department of Interior's Office of Collaborative Action and Dispute Resolution to help interjurisdictional teams define and reach shared conservation goals.
His background is in collaborative landscape conservation, quantitative ecology, and structured decision making. He received his BS in Ecology from the University of Georgia, his MS in Forestry & Natural Resources from the University of Georgia, as well as a dual PhD in Integrative Biology and Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from Michigan State University.
