Lemons in the Greenhouse: Information Failures and Market Design in Carbon Credit Markets
This report from the Oxford Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford shows how carbon credits not only suffer from asymmetric information issues typically seen in other markets (i.e., ‘market-for-lemons’), but also imperfect information, meaning their performance can never be fully measured.
