YARD / OPERATIONS
Christensens Plant and Hardscape Center - Plymouth, Michigan
2027 Hiring: 7-8 positions | Starting Pay: $18-$20/hour
Christensens Plant and Hardscape Center is hiring Yard / Operations team members for the 2027 season. This is a
hands-on role in a busy wholesale nursery and landscape supply operation. The work is physical, outdoors,
customer-facing at times, and best suited for people who like staying active, learning new skills, and being
part of a team that keeps the yard moving.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Pull and stage plant material for customer orders
• Load customer vehicles and company trucks; unload incoming plant material
• Organize and maintain nursery inventory; water and care for plant material
• Move trees, shrubs, perennials, bagged products, and related materials
• Keep sales and loading areas clean and organized
• Help customers locate material when needed
• Assist with seasonal setup, cleanup, and general yard operations
• Learn basic plant identification and nursery procedures
• Use carts, pallet jacks, loaders, forklifts, and other equipment as assigned

without waiting for every instruction.

• Reliable, on time, and willing to learn
• Safe around equipment and vehicles
• Good with customers and coworkers
• Able to work through our busy spring season
• Interested in growing into more responsibility over time
EXPERIENCE WE LIKE
Helpful, but not required:
• Landscaping, nursery/garden center, agriculture/farm work
• Construction, warehouse/material handling, grounds maintenance
• Tree care, irrigation, hardscape installation
• Loader, forklift, skid-steer, trailer, or equipment experience
We can teach plant material, nursery layout, order pulling, watering standards, customer service, and equipment
procedures. We care more about attitude, reliability, work ethic, and willingness to learn than finding someone
who already knows everything.
GROWTH OPPORTUNITY
For the right people, this is not intended to be a dead-end seasonal job. Employees can grow into experienced
yard roles, equipment operation, crew lead positions, sales, and larger operational responsibilities.

• Learn plant material, product knowledge, loading,
equipment, inventory and customer service.

initiative matters.
