Seasonal Greenhouse Team Members

Do you enjoy warm weather, sunshine, fresh air, and watching plants grow? Join us in making 2027 another successful year at PlantMasters, Northern Michigan’s largest retail greenhouse.

We are looking for friendly, dependable individuals age 16 and older who are interested in learning about horticulture and are willing to get their hands dirty. No prior experience or education is required.

Seasonal Schedule

Depending on the position that is the best fit for you, employees may start toward the end of February and work through June 15 or longer.

Planting Crew Position

Planting crew employees work Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employees must be available to work at least three full days per week. High school students may work after school until school is out for the summer.

This position includes planting, moving, and caring for young plants, as well as moving plants into the retail area when they are ready.

Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for most of the day

· Ability to lift at least 20 pounds

· Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team

· Ability to work in a range of temperatures, both hot and cold

· Layered clothing is recommended for changing greenhouse conditions

Retail Position

After production planting ends, employees will transition to the retail area. At that point, everyone is required to work one weekend day. No exceptions.

Retail Duties

· Assist customers and answer questions

· Carry products out to customer vehicles

· Greet and direct customers

· Answer phones

· Use the Clover POS system

· Keep the retail area clean and organized

· Restock hardgoods

· Price and display products
